How To Use Press Printed Books to Increase Sales

In today's digital age, offering a product that is tangible and emotive can set you apart from the competition. In this article, we will explore the significant impact of offering press printed books versus not offering them and how they can elevate your photography business to new heights.

Professional photographers understand the importance of leaving a lasting impression on their clients. In today’s digital age, offering something tangible can set you apart from the competition. Press printed books provide an incredible opportunity for photographers to enhance their business while adding value to their wedding, engagement, senior, boudoir, and family photography clients.

Ready to grow your sales revenue? Make more money? Satisfy your clients? Well, keep reading. In this article, we dive into using press printed books to drive sales.

Although the main deliverable of any client’s wedding package is, and should be, a high-end heirloom album, we still use press printed books in a variety of ways at our studio. We sell 10×10 layflat press printed books for engagement books (20 pages) and parent albums (30 pages). In addition, we offer press printed books to our clients as guest books to be signed at the wedding. Press printed books can be extremely versatile as a product offering.

Deliver Something Tactile

Digital files deliver is sooo… amateur shall we say. Sorry, not looking to offend anyone reading this, but the reality is you are being lazy. You are delivering an incomplete service to your clients. Im sure there are a ton of reasons, but in the end, those digital files will rot away on someone’s hard drive. Is that really how you want your work presented or in this case, lost forever.

Imagine a client receiving a beautifully crafted press printed book filled with their favorite images. Then imagine, your client proudly displaying this on their coffee table or book shelf in their home. By offering books, you elevate the client experience from a mere transaction to an emotional journey. Press printed books provide a tangible representation of the artistry you put into capturing their special moments. Clients can relive those memories with each page turn, evoking emotions and creating a stronger connection to your photography services.

Demonstrating Creativity and Expertise

Today, there are countless software programs and services that make it easy to provide professionally designed layouts for your books. There is no excuse at this point. You can go from zero to a completely designed album in less than an hour.

Providing press printed books showcases your commitment to excellence and professionalism as a photographer. The physical presentation of your work reflects the care and attention to detail you invest in every aspect of your craft. Your clients will recognize and appreciate the added value of receiving a beautifully bound and thoughtfully curated book that tells their unique story. This demonstration of expertise can foster trust and encourage clients to invest more in your services. This is something that can not be done by the delivery of digital files alone.

Deliver something to your clients that will be cherished for generations.

Creating Something Timeless

We tell our wedding clients, this will be your first family heirloom. And it’s completely true. It is. As a creative, you have to stop making decisions that are easy. Offering only digital files to your clients is not going to stand the test of time. Think about it. We used to deliver images on CDs. Then it was DVDs. Then it was thumb drives. Then it was USB, then USB-C. What will happen in the next 10 years?

Digital files can get lost, corrupted, or become obsolete over time. However, press printed books endure and become cherished family heirlooms. Give your clients the opportunity to preserve their memories for generations to come. These keepsakes are passed down through families, keeping your photography legacy alive for years.

Word-of-Mouth Referrals

Want free money? Don’t we all? Wait, you said yes, right?!?! Well what do you think is going to happen when your clients have prominently displayed in their home one of your gorgeous press printed books? Every person that comes through their home will notice. And you and your business will be the topic of conversation.

When clients receive a stunning press printed book, they are more likely to share their experience with friends and family. It becomes a centerpiece of discussion. The emotional connection created through the physical medium amplifies word-of-mouth referrals. Satisfied clients will proudly show off their books to others, generating interest in your photography services and increasing your potential client base.

No one has ever hovered around a USB drive. 🙂
